With cheap rattan, if you accidentally scratch the surface, the material underneath will show its true color. It's usually an unattractive color like orange, which might not be the color you'd expect to see on your outdoor furniture! Premium rattan is solid color throughout the weaving process and can be repaired simply by heating it with a hair dryer.
Ideally, the feet of garden furniture should be stainless steel. The benefits of stainless steel are resistance to rust and corrosion. Some cheaper sets will have rubber stoppers, be careful not to drag your garden furniture across the yard and risk damage.
Good quality sets will be delivered fully assembled. If the item description says "KD", which means "to disassemble," it's likely that the furniture set is flat-packed or needs to be self-assembled. While you can get some decent budget sets, they won't be as durable or as good-looking as fully assembled sets.
